  • A massive slab of crystal was used to create each. The shades are cast in specific molds, meticulously cooled for up to 30 days, lathe-carved, and hand-polished as an investigation of materiality and scale

  • Each substantial, 1½"-thick glass shade is carved from a weighty block of custom-cast K9 glass crystal that takes up to 25 days to make; the temperature of the molten glass as it cools is precisely measured and monitored to prevent hairline fractures or cracking
  • The glass is then shaped by hand and lathe-turned at high speeds in a multi-day process; cutting speed and temperature are carefully monitored to maintain the integrity of the glass
  • The crystal form is finished with wet-stone grinding and polished by hand over several days

  • Rods come in connectable segments for a customizable length
